Fagan McManus Prevails In Two Sexual Harassment/Assault Lawsuits
The federal court recently rejected defendants’ attempts to dismiss two extremely egregious sexual assault cases after we fought vigorously to ensure that our clients’ voices were heard. In one matter, our client filed a lawsuit claiming that she was raped by multiple co-workers after she began working at a restaurant as a dishwasher when she was sixteen years old. A federal judge rejected the defendant’s attempts to dismiss her claims and ruled that she had the right to have her claims heard by a jury. In another matter, our client, who worked in a factory, was repeatedly subjected to sexual harassment and assault from a co-worker on the factory floor who was known by his supervisors to have assaulted other women he worked with. Another federal judge ruled that despite our client’s failure to properly report his assaults, the company could still be held liable for his conduct since he was “serial harasser.” Fagan McManus pursued the claims of these women over the course of years – and we did not give up until our clients could be heard.
